Programs and Activities
The following training will be provided in African communities by Wimsoft International Foundation, headquartered in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The trainings will be funded through donations and there will be no charge to any of the participants. We expect that each of the following activities and trainings will need approximately $50,000 to cover training and equipment.
~Vocational training for African women of all ages to help them learn to use sewing machines. This activity will help the women raise their economic status and overall empowerment, enabling them to have a brighter future.
~Vocational training for African men and women, at least 18 years of age, to help them learn to drive and to know basic vehicle maintenance, including how to change a tire. This activity will help the individuals raise their economic status and overall empowerment, enabling them to have a brighter future.


Training


~Financial literacy training for African men and women of all ages to help them best manage their income. This activity will help the individuals raise their economic status and overall empowerment, enabling them to have a brighter future.
Distribution of food to orphan boys and girls, up to 16 years of age. This activity will help the children to be healthy and have a brighter future.




Fundraising to support activities described above. The officers, members, and all volunteers will engage in this effort, including determining the actual means of fundraising. Fundraising will be conducted in the United States. We will not be spending funds on this activity. Rather, we will seek to meet our needed goal of $200,000 so as to properly support the humanitarian and charitable activities in Africa described above.
Funds will be provided to WIMSOFT as our partner organization in Africa providing the activities. American Friends of African Vocational Development (AFAVD) will be working throughout in concert with WIMSOFT International Foundation to establish desired methods and outcomes, as well accountability measures. This joint work will include training as needed for WIMSOFT volunteers.

WIMSOFT International Foundation exists in Africa. It is not recognized by the IRS as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3). WIMSOFT International Foundation will be the partner organization on site in Africa conducting the activities funded through AFAVD fundraising.
